- How many rows you need
- A third row buys flexibility and costs cargo depth. If it would carry passengers only a few times a year, a two-row layout usually drives and parks better the rest of the time.
- All-wheel drive for our winters
- Between Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, AWD earns its keep on unplowed side streets and early-morning commutes. Pair it with proper winter tires and the difference is real.
- Towing, if it applies
- Not every SUV is built to pull, and capability varies by drivetrain and equipment on the same nameplate. If a boat, camper or utility trailer is in the picture, confirm the rating on the specific vehicle before you commit.
